My uniform doesn't fit any more......

"oh!!! you gained weight?"

"well, yeah....." this is my reply to my customers when they started to ask me why I am not in my uniform. One even told me that I should exercise.... Felt like punching her in the face. Fiona asked why I didn't just tell her. These people doesn't deserve to share my happiness!!!!!

I am around 25 weeks now and I do admit I don't look like I am pregnant. As at last Thursday, the Doc increased my medication because of my high blood pressure. I am also having a very bad skin allergy especially on my feet and tummy. Make me want to scratch...... My feet look horrible. I know I am suppose to put cream but I can't reach my feet... LOL....

Because of my condition, I have decided to go for my routine check-up and prenatal care at the Government Clinic and hospital and FYI, I need to go to the clinic at least twice a week!!!! I do not mind but sometimes the waiting is killing me and you wonder why my blood pressure shoot up!!!!

I am suppose to do birthday party for the kids but I just feel that I do not have the energy to do one this year. Now, if I can have volunteers.....

It's year end and yes, this year we will be celebrating Christmas as usual; dad insisted. At first I thought it was a selfish request but when you think of it - it was Igat last Christmas together last year and we had so much fun especially putting up the Christmas' tree and deco. These are the memories you hold close to your hearts especially when that is the only thing that is left.

Appreciate and treat each other well when we are still alive and well because it would not justify to build a beautiful and majestic memorial when they are gone. See the world in another person's view and respect people for who they are. And the most important revelation is; it is not about you neither it is about me. Go figure...

When you find the truth you will find the rest.....

Men are from Outer-space!!!!!

You might not want to totally disagree with me. I don't know whether they are the more complex creation of God or just plain#$%&^%$#@.... (please feel free to add.) I would think there is a reason why God created Eve. OK, picture this....

When God created the garden, it was so perfect, peaceful, delightful and etc. But he wanted to have somebody to care for it so He can concentrate on doing other things, so wa la!! Behold a Man. God gave him all the instructions on how to keep or trim or prune and told him that He will come to check on him once a while. So God let go of the beautiful garden.

He was soon dissapointed every time He came to visit because there were dead branches, parasites and the animals were not fed, in other words, the garden was in a mess. It would be ok if it is only the garden that was unkept but to find Adam in a more messier condition was the final blow!!! He needed help.. No he needed SOMEONE to HELP him, someone who is more organize, smart and loving........

So he put Adam to sleep, took out the bone by his side to create another human. The human was perfect for Adam. When Adam saw the human he said WOOOOOOOOW; so you figure.

Why the story?

God understood when He created Man, he will be the head the leader. He'll support the family unit so the unit can grow physically, emotionally and most important spiritually. It was meant to and still relevant today. But I do feel that they somehow fail to uphold the duties entrusted to them coz they would rather listen with their own heart instead of His voice. That's why He asked the wives to Submit to their husband because submitting itself takes a lot of courage, humility and love which sometimes men don't understand. God is perfect. He knows the female species are a stronger load. In return he asked the husbands to LOVE YOUR WIFE because I think when man loves, he is dedicated to them and will support them in every way he can. Men, it is always good to listen to your wife. You are wise if you listen to your wife. I guess that is relevant too. But still, man can never fully understand woman coz when God created Woman, the man was sleeping.

I rest my case.

PS. I like to thank Fiona for the insight....

01.01.11

I spent New Year's eve with my In-laws in kampung. Just because I dreaded going up and down the hill in darkness, I skipped New Year's eve with my family for the past few years!!! I have to admit, I did enjoyed myself - minus the hiking........

Do not ask me my New Year's Resolution; I do not fit in that category of people who sets resolutions, works toward it, achieve it then set another one every year. You see what is wrong with this picture? It is too perfect!!!!!! I do not live in a perfect world although I wish mine is. So every end of the year I mourned; coz I didn't meet..... Luckily it s not "sales' target".

This year, I'll make a small adjustment - I will have my Wishes lists and top of my list will have to be with God. I would want my life and those around me to be so fulfilling with His Grace that we would not want and in need of none other than HIM. That's the priority.

Then I still want to get rid of the access baggage that's hugging me - if I may....(the mind's willing but ooohh the flesh...)

I want to be happy, all the time....

Baby?????????

I do not know how to tell you of my feeling nor do I know where to start. Never in my life have I received such adoration, admiration and pure sweet naiveness. I am talking about my son Ezra. When I came back from work last Friday, he shared that the Math's teacher slapped him just because he did not do his "vertical form" in his math's paper. He claimed he didn't cry, only that his eye near his cheek where the teacher left red fingers marked were a bit wet.... :(

I do not 'abuse' my children by slapping their faces. I do pull ears and canning them on their legs, butt even hands and palms. So when somebody else decided to leave their palm's mark on my kid's face, I get emo.... Who dare to slapped by baby.... I carried him in my stomach for eight months. I went through period of dizziness, nausea, bloated feet and face, water retention, morning sickness while carrying him yet it was such a joy knowing that he is the perfect gift given especially for me (James 1:17), a gift I've longed and prayed for. You are talking about my child, my beloved..

This was the issue that I actually wanted to raise during the PTA meeting. I've heard of this particular teacher's tantrum and I wanted it to stop before my kid had his share - he's not such an angel either.... I was actually wrong when I said PTA is not the platform. When it involves my child's education and his well being in school, PTA should be one of the channel to voice out concern. In stead they chose to be brought down by silly issues that even doesn't reflect unity - for example, last year they only did a ramah-tamah aidil fihtri and why? The answer by the vice president even amused me; majority of the student are Muslims. Duh!!!!!! Where is your sensitivity. This is not even a Sekolah Pondok or Sekolah Agama. This is a Missionary School, started by Christians who realised the needs and how important it was to educate the people be it Chinese, Iban, Bidayuh or even Malays and it was out of selfishness and an act of love. I can go on... Somebody please stop me....

I called the class teacher, who at first was very reluctant to take up my case. I understand from my boy, she did approached him to find out on his side of the story. That was on Monday and until today, I am still waiting for her call....

The thing that amuses me most are how our children take comfort, look-up highly and trusting us the parents to handle their problems. When my son found out that I will confront the teacher, he was so happy as if saying 'now she;s going to get it! You don't know who you are dealing with!. You are dealing with my mom - the Queen, the goddess in my household', then he was at peace....

I dread the day when I would not be able to be there for him, to help him solve problems and just letting him know - it's ok, I will handle this for you... But in the process I do hope I do not pampered the boy so much until he is so depended on me. I would not want to handicapped him like that. When that time comes, will he still look-up to me? Will he still sees me as his Knight in shinning armour?

I guess sooner or later it is I, myself that actually have to let go. As long as I still keep him under my wings, he would not be able to gain the strength to fly but until that time, I think I am happy to know such a creature so dependent on me. Let me enjoy that feeling because I know I will die a little bit every time I let go even though just a tiny bit.....

That's the MOTH & Me @ Tanah Lot

I couldn't believe that a year has passed by since my trip to Bali. It was an exciting trip and looking back, I am amazed at how me and the MOTH survived "our crisis" and everyday I thank the Lord for providing and never letting us out of His sight. At times it was difficult and it still does but I believe at that one point when you feel the lowest, that is the time when you have to gather your strength and soar higher. We are living by His grace now, not because we have to but because we want and we NEED to and as long as we depend on our own strength we can never see Him working in us. So we are letting go......

On a lighter side, my friend, Fiona and I have been talking about how at our work place, all the front line personnel consist of those in their mid thirties and in 10 years down the road most of us will be in our late forties. Imagine being serve by grannies. I am not insulting for I speak of myself. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do unless I resign; still the company might not replace me as at now we do have the man power and with evolving technologies they might do away with human touches. The only field available is in the sales team. I wouldn't want to do sales although I've seen, financially lives changed for some of those who is reaping the fruits of their sweat. I envy the fruits but not the sweat. I've joined loads of those.... Avon, Elken.... you know what I mean but I am just not meant for it. I am accepting the fact that I'll be a working ant for the rest of my life but hey, it pays the bills and feed mouths, so I am contented.

With effect from July 2010 the maternity leave was raised from 60 days to 90 days. Fiona finds that hilarious and as for me.... I am still hoping. I think it is ok for the government to do that but for a company that relies on manpower that produces high level of productivity, hiring women would be their last resort. Although the reason is more so that mother and baby can bond, giving time for them to nurture through breastfeeding and spending time together. Raising children is not easy these days. With both parents working, more depends on nursery, babysitters, playschools to take care of the children and only spend quality time maybe on weekends. Growing up then were more easy. Children were exposed to elements but parents were not scared. It's different now, sometimes I feel we live in fear. Fear for our children, no, fear for what might or will happen to our children and that makes things worsts. But you can't blame them for feeling like that.

If I am given that 90days to nurture, I would and hopefully I can go back to work again and do my best to "pay" my boss for their generosity. My point is if all bosses were to think $$$$$$ and refuses to acknowledged that indeed women play a very big role in our society then our society can never grow mature and we will forever fall behind. Sometimes when you react to that action of giving, you are actually receiving the blessing. And Women, please don't misused the trust and benefit. POWER TO THE WOMAN!!!!!!!!

My Kids.

School holidays is going to be over by this weekends. At the beginning of it, I had so many plans but I guess as time flies, you wonder......

Anyway, I enrolled Ezra & Beth for the Bible camp last Friday at St. Faith. Unfortunately Beth had to be quarantined for the Hands, Foot & Mouth Disease - poor fellow. She was really looking forward to spending the night in church with the friends. As for Ezra, of coz he enjoyed himself.

They had a mini concert on Saturday night and we came late because the MOTH had to sent the little brother to the airport enrouted Kuala Lumpur. I missed the marching part but was in time to see the little boy singing and stomping his feet to the sound of the drums. At that time you cannot but feel emo - seeing the little fellow in-front singing when a few years back he was just MY little baby....

I believe that church plays a very important part in ones lives. They gives support, they teaches values that we requires and yes, they made me what I am today. I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for things I've learnt from my Youth involvement in church. Somebody ever tell me - "Let your kids be in church and most of your problems are solved".

When they were little, I used to bring them in a baby basket, then a stroller until they know how to behave. In spite of the loud music they seemed rather relaxed and I guess they grew up in this environment and I am pleased.

Then, I wanted Beth to learn Piano but really the timing is suck!!! So I guess I have to hold that thought.

I am working on a project at the moment (NO!!! it's not baby-making) but I can't disclose it yet. What ever it is, I do need your support. Until then.....

My 2nd PTA

yeah.... a mother's work is never finish. I went for my girl's school PTA meeting yesterday; as if I have nothing better to do - but the MOTH kind of got excited after attending my boy's PTA meeting a week before and would like to see how's this one will be.

As usual the response were very poor. The school has around 600 students but the only less than 40 parents were there. The teachers were there because it was their duty and they were not given the choice but for a parents to be there; well... it was a choice. I will try to make a point to attend this kind of meeting because it involves my children's well being - I want them to study in a conducive environment and I want to know what is going on in the school.

I have to congratulate the committee for doing a good job. They ran their activities well, garnered enough funds to help the school and the balance sheet were in order and fantastic. My boy's PTA should learn from my girl's PTA!!!!!

I had a good Sunday - with the Lord by my side, who wouldn't. I hope you had one too. Enjoy the 4days week ya.

I am rested.....

Today is the last day of my leave. What a week. It is not enough people. I wish I can go on leave forever and still get pay - dream on......

Did I tell you the MOTH managed to paint half of the wall of my living room. I AM happy even though I was a bit unsure about the colour at first. We have to put the project on hold.... I'll post the photo when we are done.

This photo was taken when he was half way doing it. I just want to show the difference.. I kind of like it. If we manage to finish the project I will let you know.

How do you measure a happy marriage?

Or even success for that matter. Does having loads of monies or materials things leads to it and does that really counts?

You must be wondering where I am going with this questions. Well…. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching lately (pardon my absence; apart from having a corrupted PC, I have been busy being busy..).

I have a colleague who is still single and our goal for this year is to find him a good girl to marry. So that’s our target this year. So far he went to one(1) blind date. She was introduced by a kopitiam taukey to him; very nice and good girl (mind you, she’s a Pastor). Unfortunately, no spark flew during the date and I was the most frustrated one – as if…… I mean this guy ever told me the reason he is not committing himself is because he is afraid that he will turn out to be like most of his friends – Separated or divorced. It upset him so much; he gets cold feet when he thinks of commitment.

“For riches or for poorer, In sickness or in health, till death do us part…” Marriages… It is so sacred to me that I can’t even think my life without the other half. I believe in a marriage constitution, I believe in keeping and staying forever in ones marriages – until death do us part. I learn this from my own mom.

There was a period of time when I was the only one home with my parent and I’ve seen how at that time dad ‘ill-treated’ mom and she just could not do anything because Dad is ALL to her and she need to stay for our sake but I guess the truth was then women didn’t had the guts to say ‘that’s it, enough is enough, I am leaving you!!!’. I am glad Mom stayed and I am happy they found HIM in time to understand that although they gets on each other’s nerve they have a mission to complete and came to the realization that they will grow old together. That really requires a lot of patience but now she ‘tormented’ him by ignoring him when he is in one of those moods!!! Bravo mom.. Power to the woman…

One important rule I learn from Mom is quoted from the Bible itself. It says whenever you are angry, don’t bring it in until the sun set (Ephesians 4:26) – I tell you; it is easier said than done. But I will surely get it if she finds out I drag it. Love is not enough, people…. Even so much more – immaturities. Guys wake up!!! These are the era where women are empowered. They discovered they don’t necessary need a husband or a man in their life. They have learned to be independent, knowledgeable and some even brings the bread home. Think twice if you intend to flirt…….;) You know who you are. Don’t even think to give her a second grading in your list. She is the most important person in your life – not your car, your games or your pets!!! Cherish her, shower her with all the attention; she will appreciate it and when you have children, be the strength, the fortress, the foundation for your family. Be involved.

I don’t know which is harder, keeping a marriage or letting it go……

I heard this a few days ago. It is in regards of mending a relationship. “We don’t just make it stick (together) but we make it glued. If it still doesn’t stick that means the pieces doesn’t fit.”

I am sorry for my friends that had to let go… My heart goes out to you for I care and I believe you deserve the best of best God can give you. I was and still saddened by it so much. It is harder if you have kids; unless they have grown up and you are able to make senses.

I wouldn’t judge you. Do what makes you happy. For once, do it because it is for you – you deserve it. It wouldn’t be easy initially but like what I told you, gear up all your support system – some may not agree with what you are doing and when you are unsure don’t only depends on your guts feeling, look-up more to the divine intervention, have peace, pick up the pieces and go on.

How time flies.......

Before I know, I have been blogging for 2 years!!! I admit sometimes it is very hard to put stories on the blog. I am forever wondering whether posts I will be posting be interesting to those who willingly read my blog and sometimes I do feel that I need to give the best to those "followers". Thus came the long 'silence'. Then there will be days when I don't even know what to post and sometimes there just be merely laziness and Facebook that sidetracked me. Can you blame me?

Before I go on, Happy New Year 2010 to you. Resolutions? I wouldn't lie; I need to lose weight. This time around I have set a target. I want to be able to lose at least 10kg by December. I want to look good for my family photo which my brother schedule to happen before Christmas this year. Can I do it? We have to see.

*** photo courtesy Eric of Mushroom

This was taken 1 month after the birth of my daughter. I agree I was never a slim person but I have since gained extra load......

So how was 2009?

Personally, I had a wedding and two funeral........ and an addition to the family.

2009 was a turbulence year for me and my other half. It was a trial time. Financially it will be hard but I guess we are trusting God in that area and we have to put on hold some of the things we planned just so that we can just adjust.

I have never like changes.. because it exposes me to the elements that I can't control and when I can't control, I loose focus and when I am not focus nothing gets done. It applies to my every aspect of my life be it spiritually, career or monies. But I will have to also remember that; all that I have is the Lord, He provides for all my needs and nothing that I am lacking. I might not drive a big car but I get around, I might not eat KFC everyday but mom cook good food and I might not wear Chanel at least I am not naked and I sleep well at night.

I want to start my new year with a positive note. If over the last year(s) I've make you upset and I said things that may hurt you; accept my apology. Thus I am mere human. Please do not judge me because when you do, you are stereotyping me. I am not as bad as you think because I can be worst. Do not even try me because it will change how I look at you. I dare you!!!!!

That's it personally.

Besides that, I aim to do justice to "my dwelling place". I've been neglecting it for a simple reason - suddenly I have a baby in the house. My in-laws will bring Robin and stay with me. My own has grown-up; they make different messes. So as it is, I have to put all my plans on hold (iskh.... iskh.... iskh....). I hope this year will be different.......

Again, I try to separate myself from attaching so much on material things and anything that is not good for ones' soul. I need to patch-up with Him and that is the most important agenda this year. Forget slimming down, forget the house, forget the leads target. I need to focus my eyes upward.......

What about you?

Service level

We had just realized that Ezra need not go to school until next week. Ha!!! How 'sensitive' can one be.... Anyway, I got to do things that I need to do today and Am happy about it. Do you ever have the feeling that when you are so used to "Nearly Perfection" you wouldn't be happy with just ok - that was how I felt about the process of opening an account with local bank!!! But I refuse to go low to that standard so I am just going to leave that at this.

EPF...... emmmm service very fast but I feel my first contact should be more beneficial. I am talking about the receptionist. She should get all the form ready with her. I had to get a number and wait just to be given a form (by guy called Hardy), filled the form, went back to her again just to get another number to checked whether I filled it correctly, done so; went back to her to get another number just to be called by Hardy again to acknowledged my application.

At least I did all these before noon.... and the fact that Hardy was using baju melayu and in the spirit of raya; I refuse to go low to that standard and so, I am again leaving it at this.

Catherine is on her way back from the state (she's on the plane as I type..). She was there for 3 years and I just want to welcome her home and I can't wait to meet up with her...

The truth.... (The Penan Stories)

"If you have the time, do visit the Penans and write fairly about them... The reports on the sexual abuse of the Penans are not true."

- Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman (Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Office; Oct 19, 2008)
PDF Print

By A. Kathirasen (NST 13 September 2009)

MY heart goes out to the Penans.

Last month, I read that a group of Penans was starving. I was shocked. After all, this is Malaysia with the twin towers and beautiful Putrajaya and a prospering middle class.

I felt relieved when Ulu Rejang member of parliament Datuk Billy Abit Joo denied that anyone was starving.

Then, in the same New Straits Times report, he was quoted as saying the Penans at Long Tanyit and Long Kajang had had a poor rice harvest because the crop was destroyed by insects and monkeys.

He said there had always been a shortage of food because of logging activities, which were destroying the food source of the Penans.

Later, I read about a group of people, including from Peninsular Malaysia, making the arduous journey to the Kapit Division to deliver more than 10 tonnes of food to about 1,500 Penans.

The headman of Long Tanyit, Salu Ugat, was quoted as saying they were facing a serious food shortage.

This week, I read that allegations of Penan women and girls being raped and sexually abused by timber company workers were true.

A task force established by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry last year has ascertained that at least eight girls and women had been raped and molested in the Baram district.

The task force's 111-page report said schoolgirls were very vulnerable to sexual abuse because they depended on timber vehicles to transport them to and from school. Otherwise, they would have to walk for hours or not go to school.

On Friday, the head of the Criminal Investigations Department in Sarawak, Senior Assistant Commissioner 2 Huzir Mohamed was quoted as saying:

"We need the names of specific victims, where they can be found, more accurate information on the dates and places of the incidents and descriptions of the people who had committed these (sexual crimes).... The ministry must furnish us with more details."

Hmm. I always thought it was the job of the police to get such details. The report certainly raises questions about police investigations into the rape allegations.

But, more than that, it is about the attitude of Sarawak leaders towards their people.

When the Bruno Manser Fund (BMF) revealed the allegations on Sept 15 last year, Deputy Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu was quoted as saying, on Sept 25, that the claim was baseless.

"Show proof," he cried. "Tell us which Penan settlement. I have not heard of such complaints from the Penan community leaders in my many visits to Ulu Baram."

Hmmm. Maybe Jabu needs to make more visits.

He also dismissed the BMF as a "bunch of people who are nothing in their own country but like to sensationalise events elsewhere".

On Friday, he said he believed the Penans were manipulated by Western non-governmental organisations into telling lies to the task force.

Hmmmm. I pity Jabu. But then, this is the malaise of many in authority. The first reaction to any negative news is to reject it, or to ascribe an evil intention.

The task force's report also pointed out the problems faced by the Penans, such as a lack of access to healthcare and education.

It added: "All these issues are closely related to imbalanced development. The lack of infrastructure such as roads and public transport make it difficult for the Penan to communicate with the outside world, including government agencies."

Therein lies the problem. If schoolgirls have to depend on timber lorry drivers to get to school, incidences of sexual abuse will continue.

And it is not just the Penans who are out in the cold. There are also other tribes and groups, such as the Sabans, most of whom still don't have any documentation to even show they are Malaysians.

Perhaps politicians should make more frequent trips into the interior areas; at the very least, they will get more vitamin D.

Sarawak is a rich state. Surely its politicians can accelerate the distribution of the fruits of development to a wider populace; surely, it's time to ensure no child has to walk for seven hours to get to school; surely it's time to ensure no sick person has to travel hundreds of kilometres -- on foot and in timber company vehicles -- to get treatment.

If logging activities are causing misery to their people, then Sarawak politicians have an obligation to attend to them; if loss of native customary land is the problem, then it is incumbent upon the leaders to resolve the issue. People should come first, not profits.

And they can start with the Penans. Don't forget, they are Malaysian citizens, too. The Sarawak government must show it has a heart.

The weekend's over..

...but my leave will start tomorrow. Planning to get out of town with the family. Will keep you posted of the place; in case you'll stalk me (yeah, like that's going to happen).

I must say even though Kuching is blast with activities; with the H1N1 and the Haze I am avoiding crowd places. Thank God for the rain so we had few days of clear sky and fresh breath of air.

A friend of mine is tying the knot after years of courting and dating. I am so happy for this couple yet I can't reveal their names coz it will be a surprise for a few people out there who might know them and who might be reading my blog. So until then; I am zip-up about it.

What makes a marriage successful? I am not trying to be Madam-Know-It-Al nor am I trying to act as if I have a perfect marriage. Sometimes you just wonder; why and I land myself in this situation. - These questions will manifest itself especially when one is having some kind of tension in their marriages. No, I am not having problems with mine (ya, true he need to be told to mawn the lawn every month; to get somebody to service the aircond every now and then or to get my washing machine repair for the thousand times!!!) - we argue about money all the time, so does other couples. Believe me, your marriage is not a normal one if you don't face this situation.

Early in my marriage, I always complain to my beloved because he will chose football, volleyball or badminton over me. Even his car gets more attention then me. I remember when I delivered my boy (2pm 25 November 2001), I was expecting him to be there when I was out of the delivery room - he wasn't. He only showed up later, late evening and not until few days after that I found out he was actually having a game; and there I was delivering 'His" baby- marah, tidak......

Now, I'll be happy if he were to bring the kids out for his games - be it football or badminton. Then I can have"peace"............

Guys, you need to accept that two of you are not perfect. When you enter in to this 'agreement' it was for poorer or richer, in sickness or well being until death do us part..... and the agreement is not only between the two of you; moms, dads, brothers, sisters.....; sealed with God's blessing.

My advise; bring God into your marriages. There will be tough time but it's not where you are going that is important but what you gain. experience and feel along the journey that is more fulfilling.

Wooow people!!!! I've made it!!!!!!! but first of all I like to to wish all my Dayak friends Seramat Andu Gawai/Selamat Ari Gawai, Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai Lantang Senang Nguan Benua. For those of you who hasn't got the slightest idea what I am talking about; Wikipedia ok.

We are done with David and S'nah's wedding and I do admit I like doing this project. Amidst all the tension, the vulgar words thrown out(out of frustration), the tiredness I still enjoyed it. Now that that's over, I don't know what to do with my life, my weekends...... Maybe now I can make my house more homely eh..... or like Fiona said, I can concentrate on losing those extra pounds.

It has been a wonderful experience to plan this wedding with my brothers and especially with my sister-in-law; Snah. David had never really in a relationship - not that I knew of. I knew
girls were interested but he had always being the cool guy... but one thing for sure, he has always had his eyes on the Orang Ulu girls.... (anybody like to comment)

I remember that day; Mom and Anddy were away@Pelagus. I was surprised to see Abba tagging along with David and one girl@my doorstep. I knew he was serious with this one when he brought her to my house. It didn't take them long to decide; so after the December2008 engagement, the wedding was set on 30th May 2009 (check my previous post for the engagement story).

We anticipated with joy. The last wedding in the family was mine which were 10 years ago and it was no fun coz my siblings were either too young to share the excitement or were away in Sabah/Serdang (during the preparation).

First, discussion with Reverend Trevor. Then, date was set, venue for the dinner where chosen.

Why oh...why.....

Today is Good Friday. What is so good about it? The world is so much full of suffering - sometimes it make you wonder whether life is worth living. It is more intense when the suffering involve people around us; who are dear to us; our family. You are more protective of these criteria of people because they are simply the people we love and we do anything for them, shield them from things that might hurt them and would even die for them without even asking anything in return. It's the purest love of all. Sometimes when I look at my children I marvel, the words they spoken, the actions they made and the laughter.... It made my labour-pain worthwhile. Where am I going you may ask? That's the story of Good Friday.

Earth Hour

So... How was your 1 hour of darkness?

It was an event that I and my whole family were looking forward too. We planned it a few days before and told the children in anticipation to joined in the fun. We planned of candle lights, of BBQ and of watching the Akademi Fantasia - sure, I follow that; if I could.

My Saturday started with laundry. Ezra was having his replacement class so Beth and I had a girl's day. Anddy picked us up by 1.30pm and we went over to mom's. By then Ezra was already back from school and together with Abet we were off the St. Mary's to try to make full use of the RM40 fair tickets that mom simply had and forgotten to use. And of coz it was too late ......

I was at the Daily Choice Food (Tabuan Jaya) pay line when this woman 'potong' queue. The thing that upset me the most was not becoz the cashier didn't ignore her but bcoz although the woman knew of my present, she 'ignored' me. And of coz I don't look like Tai-Tai but even so everybody requires respect no matter what and how you look like. To that woman I would like to say that you are rude and I hope your children will have that kind of treatment from other people becoz I always believe what goes 'round comes 'round. I have said my peace........

I enjoyed the food that nite though; BBQ - chicken marinated with black pepper, salad, BBQ sweet potatoes and sambal buah belimbing...... Then everybody wait in anticipation for 8.30pm.

I do hope everybody enjoyed their dark hour like I did and it was for a good cause too. Hope we can do it again and the knowledge my children gained from it was priceless.
