Rombongan Mak Ijah pergi meminang...

It was a memorable day for my brother David last night 19th December 2008, for last night he was engaged to Snah. Our party arrived at the uncle's place@Stutong around 7pm. David presented Snah with 5 trays of gifts or hantaran; a parang, head gears for both couple, hunting gears for David, a pair of rings, a bottle of wine(unlikely the Kayan's culture) and a pair of sarongs for S'nah and the mother. All these cost them around RM2000.00. (I am not complaining)

Did I missed anything?

Here, the party waiting for the 'occasion' to start. The 'hantaran' were laid nicely on the table.

The night started with Pastor Peter DeRun saying the opening prayers and Rev. Trevor Tinda solemnising the engagement.

Exchanging of rings between the couple.

Uniting the union with communion.

The couple - engaged.

Then we finished off with dinner and some entertainment from S'nah's family - dances and Sape playing. Check this photo out. It's me and hubby trying the head gear.

So, wait for the next chapter from me as the wedding planner.....

The tissue issue.

I love Saturday, I have to admit even though sometimes it is no fun without the other half. It is the day when my kids and I will have a lovely day outing with my two brothers and my parents (not in that order). We will have brunch and then car rides. We had ever reached Serian and Serikin...

Yesterday, we were at one eatery, RH Plaza for brunch. I have always love to come here becoz of it's locality and the choices of food especially the Penang Fried Kuay Tiaw and the HotPots - Ikan Masak Asam, Bak Kut Teh, Ka Cang Ma and Pork Leg.

But yesterday was an 'experience' for us. I had laksa and as usual I asked for tissue paper(I get messy with the lime and sambal, always...). The lady said "oh, tidak ada tisu, kalau mauk tisu pergi kaunter; beli 20 sen." I was pissed....

What kind of eatery will serve food without providing a basic needs like tissue paper. It is just like when you are done at the toilet and finding no tissue paper there!!!! Hey come on, is it just your measure to cut cost and make more monies. You are not an inexperience business people. For what I know your family own the 'gallery' next door and you earn a lot making tiles....... Tak kan tisu paper tak dapat provide kot.......

Hey... what goes around, comes around, maybe not your life time.........

Sunshine Day....

Last Wednesday, for the first time in my life (sakainya...) I went to The Coffee Bean with Fiona. Thanks, Fiona for making the time... We were supposed to brisk-walked.... What the heck..... We'll start next year.

I had Mocha and she went for Caramel and we shared a piece of Oreo Cheese - sinful.......

.....and the night before ( Monday night) on the way back from mom's, just becoz the kids slept over at mom's and just becoz....

we went to Starbuck@airport- dating....

I don't know what we had but it was fantastic and we shared a piece of Tiramisu cake..

Well after that, I couldn't sleep....... darn!!!!.

Anyway, let's change the subject.

We went to tHe Spring on Sunday, saja....just to bring the kids out. (It was nice to meet you Amelia and thanks for your support.....). Actually I went there to buy myself a pair of shoe coz it's my yearly entitlement.

Check out the Christmas tree...

Then around 9.15pm, we decided to go home but not before making a stop at the Big Apple......

We decided to wait outside for our ride home coz, I have to admit - my husband love for low and sporty car sometimes do us no good but it is still our car...

I was pissed becoz we had to wait for one hour for him to get out of the parking lot itself!!
It seemed that for no reason people just suddenly think like me!

tHe Spring Management, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PARKING SYSTEM!!!!!!

The only compensation I had were the donuts....... It was sinful....(in anger - forgot to take photo of those 'nuts')

HfF

It is actually I club I belongs to. What does it stand for? Well for a start, we are a group of people who pull-in our "resources" every month and when we are "rich" enough, we splurge - on food. Hence we call ourselves HfF - " Humanity for Food" (LOL.....). It is just an evening of good food, good companion, good laugh, gossips and sharing. For Catherine's sake, an ex-member who is residing in Oregon, USA - no where in the states you'll get this kind of food...

Enjoy the shots......

As usual, Fiona with loads & loads of stories & gossips.

The mix vege I created with Fiona. (We just threw everything we like)

I recommend this crab with salted egg - my first but not my last

This was how my plate look when I was done... kenyangnya.....

Welcome to the club, Seno & Phil

My sister in-law walked down the isle this morning. She married Phil from Giam - not India; Kampung Giam, Jalan Puncak Borneo, Kuching. Both are teachers in Miri and with this occasion my in-laws has only the youngest boy to think of now.

The Bride & Groom; before leaving for St. James' Quop.

We pronounce you; husband & wife.

I just love this 'frame'

Evening event - interesting....

So, welcome to the world of married people and I just like to share an article from Saran's blog which I find very inspiring.

Getting married doesn't instantly make you selfless... it makes you realize how very selfish you can be at times. Getting married doesn't make you feel loved... it makes you realize love is more of a decision you make than a feeling you feel. Getting married doesn't take away loneliness... it makes you realize true companionship comes not when you demand it but rather when you give it to another person. So, what does marriage give? A beautiful chance to make the choice to ...
Laugh whether or not the jokes are funny. Love by folding his collar over his tie every morning. Pretend like you don't need flowers, but delight when he buys them anyway. Cheer him on through both failures and successes. Tell him he's a great man everyday. Thank God for the privilege of being his wife.

My Miracle Baby.....

My boy is 7 today. I call him my Miracle baby; the baby that I longed for; I prayed for; hope for. I was married for three years and nothing happened - I meant having baby. By the way, we will be into our 10th years of marriage this coming boxing day.

Then we discovered I had a dermoid cyst somewhere outside my right ovary - if I remember correctly. It was a testing time for me but luckily - no, it was by God's grace that I pulled through. During those trial times sometimes you just cannot even imagine on what terms should you base your faith or belief on but that was all I had at that time. My faith and belief in Him and I guess it was sufficient.

I went under the knife I think early April of 2001. They cut me under my bikini lines (LOL - as if I have those.....). The cyst was big 10x9cm at least(ya... the picture are mine). If you look closely you can see traces of fat tissues and even hairs and God knows what else.... WEIRD!!!!!!!!

I was on medical leave for three weeks and during my last week I experienced nausea, easily tired and I was late too. I thought the surgeon might have left something behind!!
Anyway, I was due for my last check up before returning to work and I told my gynae that I just feel soooo tired everyday; I would be napping even in the car during my rides to and from home; mom was taking care of me at that time - macam orang berpantang...

He scanned me and said "Well no wonder your ovary was a bit 'kembang' - you are pregnant".

I'm pregnant?. EMmmmmmmm........

I'm pregnant......

I'm pregnant!!!!!!.

What about the excessive morphine/pain killer that I took; not forgetting the medications/drugs - my foetus will be a drug addict!!!!. Will 'it' develop well?. Ya... that was the concern...... for everybody; later when they found out.

Of coz the husband got to know first; then mom & dad. The rest was history but some of the things that happened during my pregnancy were; 9/11 - I was scared becoz I was about to bring this child into the world that are not safe and also, that month I gila-gila and coloured (or they called it stripping) my hair blonde.... Ha! the nerve of me.

The first photo of the baby(foetus) on 25April2001 - although I couldn't understand the scanning....

Here, the baby were more visualized. I still could not comprehend it. This were dated 22May01.

Reality was setting in. This was taken on 25August01. See the shape of the head and the outline of the baby's body.....and we got to know we were having a boy.....

I was expected to deliver on 10Dec01 but by middle November, it was as if the water that was supposed to protect and nourish the baby were diminishing and I kind of remembered when we stayed in Damai early November, I felt as if my water broke - but because I was in the pool, I couldn't be sure.....

So my Oby/Gynae asked me to deliver the baby as soon as possible because the chances of him surviving were better outside than inside. I was scared......Will my baby be ok? Will I be ok? We decided to 'checked-in' on Sunday@8.00am@Sarawak GH.

Weirdly, I was also having "Braxton Hicks"(I hope the term is correct) the night before and in the morning I was a bit dilated. I couldn't remember whether I was induced but it was fast. I only need to push four times than he waaaaaaaaaa.....waaaaaaaas out. The pain was bearable too. I have to admit, I had an easy birth. Weighing at 1.95kg, he was considered premature. He was small and thin. They ran test on him at 4 am- it was painful to see, it really broke me at that time. I think we were there for 3 days and finally he was declared fit to go home........

Our first photo together - the first few days@home.

The first time I introduced him to the sun - he was 1 month old and putting on more weight

Look how proud and handsome he look here and he was just 4/5 months.

Trying to walk and getting more naughtier - 9 months

He is 2 here.. the baby I love so much...and he grow up so fast. I wish they stay like this forever but I guess the Lord has better plans for them. My prayer is that He will continue to mould him, direct him, teach him to be the person He wants him to be..

My Miracle baby....

Happy Birthday.

Eagle's wings

I am on leave today until Friday. I do plan to have quality time with the kids. Furthermore tomorrow is the boy's 7th birthday. The plan was to go to Damai but had to postponed coz Maysun couldn't get the day off. Luckily I haven't told the kids of the plan or else; nag...nag...nag....

So what did we do today? NOTHING!!! By afternoon I asked everybody including the father who happened to be on sick leave - of tooth ache; to take a nap.

The kids grow up so fast.... We were looking at all photos and I was saying how adorable they were. Now, if I say one thing they will answer me two... And Ezra seems to be going through puberty even though he is just seven. He is so rebellious sometimes; I wish I can smack him but I just pray that the Lord gives me enough strength and wisdom to guide him all through these phases of life. Sometimes I do fear for him and sometimes for myself. Have I done enough for my own child? Am I doing it the right way? Are there any right way? What if ..........

Please Lord, help my kids to grow up under your wings. Help them learn to wait for you, then they have strenght to mount up with wings like the eagles. They shall walk and not be weary, they shall run and not fall. Help them to grow up to be like the eagles; full of courage, strong having faith in Him and everything a mother wishes for the children.....

So you guys out there, any useful advise?
