GO, GIRL POWER!!!!!

I've been following certain TV drama-series and seems to be stuck and looking forward to watch it every week and no, its not the CSIs series; although Grisson still amuses me, I just don't understand why Fiona love Horatio.....anyway.....

It started with "Desperate Housewives" - then I got bored... The women seems to be having to much sex; if you know what I mean. I stopped watching becoz the series lack vision and like what I said - OVERSEXED!!!!!

Now, I am watching "Cashmere Mafia". Created by Kevin Wade, it tells of a group of successful female executives who have been friends since college turn to each other for guidance as they juggle their careers with family in New York City. This drama is starred by Lucy Liu as Mia Mason, Frances O'Connor as Zoe Burden, Miranda Otto as Juliet Drapper and Bonnie Somerville as Caitlin Dowd.

Another series is the "Lipstick Jungle" -
A look at the lives of Nico(Kim Raver), Wendy(Brooke Shield), and Victory(Lindsay Price) -- three of "New York's 50 Most Powerful Women," according to The New York Post.

(Pics by The Internet Movie Database)

These are career women, successful, rich and everything a woman wish she is to be. Loads of self-esteem and power - you wish you taste a bit of their glamorous life, wish you have their power, their monies, lifestyle and even their men....

But hey.... although you learn a bit of facts of life in these drama- you laugh a little, smile a little and even cry a little - and while they are good entertainment materials, it doesn't happen in MY WORLD.

Back to reality. My body ache..... For the last couple of weeks, I had food allergies, toothache and painful gum (that made my entire right cheek hurt) and now am having sore throat + sinus. According to Bluce all it takes is a trip to Roki the Dentist...

I had the food allergies for 2 weeks and it showed-up every morning and night. I was never allergic to food; FOOD!!!!! that's my life you are talking about. I love FOOD!!!
So they asked me to list down the food I ate. Thank God am not allergic to PORK!!! Turn out I am not allergic to any food (I think). Emily said maybe I've been showering hot water and I think Abet also said the same thing...

Talk about FOOD. Last Friday the HfF team went to Sweet Happiness for our dinner.
Pictures paint a thousand words...

Emily and Chang telling the Chef what we want

That's the crab; delicious....

This is new - Chicken + herbs soup; cooked in coconut, not my cup of tea but some of the gang liked it..

Well enough said. Goodnite and have a productive day a head..

My New Toy... Happy Birthday Cat

My phone died on me a couple of days ago. Somehow I feel like a left hand had been chopped-off. Hubby was reluctant to give me his "left hand" so promised to buy me one. Yeah... we went phone hunting yesterday but what he forgot to tell me was his budget. Anyway, he was kind enough to fulfill my dream..

I have always like this one... so thanks Hon;(I luv you). So I got myself a Nokia 6500 Slide.

I love this phone for a simple fact that I can download photos straight to my pc to my blog so I don't have to wait for anybody to download it from their camera for me and another bonus is I can YAHOO!!! Yahoooooo.....

I like to wish
Catherine a "Happy Birthday - many happy returns of the day. May you bless others like you've been blessed and wherever you are; we are thinking of you."

CONGRATS SIS!!!!!

Photobucket

After a very long and hard journey, finally my sister Ivy Toda graduated with a Bachelor Degree from Unimas. So that leave me and my eldest brother Terry without a "scroll".

The whole family attended the function except for hubby and big brother. Although tiring it was blissful, some cried and some laughed at the crying ones.......

So lets just enjoy some of the moments...

Once again... Congratulations Sis, you deserve it..

08.08.08

It's a lucky number; according to Chinese belief and that was why the opening of 2008 Olympic China started at 08:08:08 on 08.08.08. Ironically I was also told that today is the first day of the 7th month of the Chinese Calendar and it is not a good month - it is when the door of hell is open wide and souls, demons or ghosts roam the earth (Chinese, correct me if I am wrong).

My day was tarnished by a forged RM50.00 note found in my cash box. The note was from yesterday's collection and I missed it. So, there was no where we can tracked it down. Surprisingly we discovered 2 more forged RM50.00 notes making it 3 today. Why did I miss it??? I don't know.... But the forgery was perfect; down to the ultraviolet stripes. Even the Chief Cashier missed it........... There goes my luck eh...

BON VOYAGE!! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN......

Hena was back for a one week visit and as I am writ ting this, she would have been in the arms of beloved Amos.......I grew up with Hena; not only is she's a friend, she is a sister. We knew each other when we were in the Youth at the tender age of 15. We went through the journey of being a teenager to being a wife together. It has always been the two of us until now - Audrey and Hena works together - although separated by the South China Sea they are constantly e-mailing each other, not that I mind in-fact I am glad at least now when we go out it will be the three of us.

Who's Audrey????Being with That girl was an adrenalin rush....

With her..... I had the most exciting car rides.

- being chased by boys, men....

- being chased by boyfriends

- being chased by ex-boyfriends..

- chasing boys, men, boyfriends and ex-boyfriends....

But.... we mellowed..... and married and had kids (she has 3 boys!!!!!!)

So when Hena asked us out, again it was something that I look forward to.

I had a heavy schedule that day. Had dinner with my colleges@ Hai Pa Wang and half way had to leave for a movie - The Mummy III; We double-dated with Eng Siong and Eileen.By 11pm Audrey and Hena was at my place and we went to Atmosphere for a "decent" drink..

Then,we went to one of the night spot along Hilton. I must say... I felt a bit "old". Audrey, gone were those days when I can still do head-banging _(LOL) but I do enjoy the live band although I've seen better. Anyway,I glass of vodka-lime gave me a hangover until Monday (that show how old my body is....)

Guys, lets do it again....

Von voyage Hena until Christmas........

OLD GANG REUNION

Hena is back. She's a close friend of mine, more like a sister to me - You can say, we grew up together. She's married to Amos and works with Alliance Bank in Subang.

So, as usual, called up all the gang to meet up. I was excited when Eng Siong managed to contact Stanley, Sing How and Korno for the "reunion"; unfortunately none of the boys turn-up. Audrey went to JB for her class - and feeling glad to avoid the "reunion". So I had to be contended having Hena, Hui Khoon, Linda and Eng Siong and later were joined by Eileen and Josiah.

We ate at the Elephant; as usual and had a great time catching up with each other.

MY OFFICE NEW LOOK....

The Bank launched its' new platform on 23rd July;Wednesday. I loved the way the place look. It was so alive and colourful with smell of fresh flowers every way.............ah....makes ones feel as if in Eden. I have to admit, it was a fun day for everybody and work was delightful.

Flowers......

More flowers....and the place smell of garden of roses, lilies....

It was a fun Friday too. With 60% workforce today (most of them went off to Brunei by invitation of Brunei's Branch for a Sport Carnival in conjunction with 60 years anniversary of the Bank in that country and certain people on leave and of coz one particular person on sick leave). Despite the short-handedness it was still an enjoy-full environment to work in becoz somehow I am surrounded by people who share the same view and opinion on certain issues if not all. It makes working there bearable. I guess its universal issues; you are bound to work with idiots too - I just feel they don't know how lucky they are to work with the Bank. Some people just resented it until they fail to unveil their true potential...... Anyway, I made monies today....(Overtime)

I joined my sis/bro-in-law for dinner at Holiday Inn this evening. Thank you Mayfri and Marianna, it was so thoughtful of you (and of coz the kids joint them earlier for a dip in the pool). It was a Japanese/Korean buffet style dinner. I had a taste of Kim chi, Japanese pizza, mussel, sushi, cheese cake.... To bad the camera is spoilt.
